Vero Lake: Living in the Country here in Florida

  I see this huge yellow grasshopper around my house each day, sometimes in the front, other times in the back or by the driveway or in the plants or lawn, he loves it here I guess! I have seen him now for over a year around here. I have never seen such a huge yellow grasshopper before in my life. He doesn't seem to be afraid of me. The ones I am used to from New York were smaller and green. This one sure is unique and love to hang around here a lot! VLE living sure does bring a lot of nice wildlife and creatures and critters around where we live. It is a nice blessing from God! I really enjoy that about here where we live! Feeling so blessed! 

I love seeing all the wildlife around my house. Each day I see turtles, cardinals, blue jays, squirrels, etc. Yesterday I saw the pair of sand hill cranes again. They make a very loud screeching noise. They are very graceful creatures! The other day I saw this turtle again, I see him often, he goes in the road and all, a guy on the bike was screaming and cussing about the overbuilding here, as they are building new houses down the road and doing a lot of backhoe work, he feels bad for the turtles being displaced as do I. It is sad. I have seen so many eagles and owls here, but they keep cutting down more of their habitat and where will they be able to live soon?  While it is nice to live in the country, it is worrisome to see so much of the woods and animal habitat being taking down to build more houses, too bad they wouldn't put a moratorium on it for a while. We really are enjoying all the wildlife here and are grateful to God for all the visits from all of God's creatures ea...

  Almost daily I am visited by some of God's creatures here where we live! What a blessing from our Lord! I love seeing all the birds, blue jays, cardinals, sand hill cranes, ibis, redheaded woodpeckers, mockingbirds, squirrels, bunnies, owls, eagles, turtles, etc.  Even I see a nice black snake often, and lots of butterflies, dragonflies, and bees. I love seeing all of these critters out and about! It reminds me God is all around us and is blessing us with his creations to enjoy, like a beautiful flower!  God has really made Heaven here on Earth for us, but unfortunately, man ruins that by their greed, corruption, fraud, selfishness, mediocrity, ego, hate, over development, and destruction. All we can do is pray for a wonderful world and for each other that we all turn to God and live by His laws and love. Maybe then we can restore and have Heaven here on Earth again! Thank you God for all your blessed creatures and their visits! 

  We had a nice visit from some Sand Hill Cranes the other day in our yard. They seemed to really like the bird food in the feeder by the St. Francis of Assisi statue. St. Francis always liked animals too, like I do. I love seeing these majestic birds, they are big, have red topped heads, and are very graceful. They enjoyed eating the food out of the feeder and stayed a very long time. It is a blessing to see all of this wildlife here visiting us in VLE. So so blessed here! 

  The poor eagles, bunnies, turtles, birds, owls have no where to go here where I live. They are cutting down all their habitat faster and faster and the poor animals are being displaced. It is sad that we do that to our wildlife here just to build more houses for humans. Why can't we set aside some woods in all blocks for the animals? It is so sad to see so many animals like this big eagle on this new house. They are clearing the land nearby and took down all the woods where tis guy lived. I saw him come in and out of there each day. I wish that are so called leaders could do more in our neighborhood to protect the wildlife here and prevent so much growth and development. Praying for the poor animals that call VLE their home who are being displaced. 

  Blessed with cardinals all around here! I love their bird call and today I put a bird feeder by the St. Francis statue and the female cardinal came for some food. We see and hear them all day long. Yesterday when I went for a walk, one flew up very close to me, as if it wanted to perch on me. I just love birds! My mom did too. Sometimes I think when I see and hear them it is my mom speaking through them to me. What love from God!  I feel so bird blessed! God is so wonderful in our lives if we look for it and listen to Him! VLE, where I live,  is a great place to see a lot of birds and wildlife! So so blessed!
