Vero Lake: Living in the Country here in Florida

  We dodged another hurricane! While it was bad and scary, we prayed, and it helped. Not too much damage or anything. I think both went almost over us, so it helped to not have as much damage of the winds. God's covenant with us, rainbows, He is so good to us, and seeing this made me happy this afternoon right by our house. God is great! He really looks out for us! He is a blessing and miracle in times of storms and troubles. Thank God for our great God! Grateful we faired well from this storm! 

  I love living here! I love seeing cows each day! Cows, horses, cattails, turtles, dirt roads, eagles, even a missing goat last week in my neighborhood. I love seeing all these animals and living in the country. We really are blessed living in Indian River County. It is one of the best kept secrets in Florida!  God is with us! 

  I love seeing all these little frogs! I see so many since all the rain and Hurricane Ian. So many of them, especially in the mornings! Look here in the top photo two in one Culusia plant on the leaves, so cute! Another on the Porter Weed. I also see a larger one on the window when I removed one of the hurricane panels today. The other day when I was walking in toward the house, a little frog even jumped on my foot. They are very cute. I saw so many tadpoles in the standing water for a few weeks in the canals around the house, so many, so that is why we have so many frogs now. They are very cute. I love all wildlife. I saw something this even run fast across my back yard, it looked black and white, like a dog or goat, then I remembered it said on a sign down the road that someone lost their goat. What a blessing all of God's creatures! 

  We had the cutest and smallest little turtle visitor today in my backyard by the back door. So cute! I see many big turtles all around, but this must be a baby, so small, about 2 inches in diameter, very very cute. I had not seen one like this so small. My next door neighbor told me that before our house was built that there always used to be a lot of turtles on this property. I have seen many now since living here for almost two years, but always larger like other photos here on this blog. I love seeing all the wildlife here in VLE, the turtles are very special, turtles can live to be very old too. They are a very special creature from God! What a blessing today! 

  I love seeing all the critters around here! It is a nice feeling to see so much wildlife here. Eagles, owls, sandhill cranes, turtles, rabbits, blue jays, cardinals, squirrels, butterflies, red headed woodpeckers, so much wildlife here and it is so nice to see! I just love the turtles! I have bird feeders setup so always see many birds. It is always a blessing to see God's critters out and about! 

  I love this free magazine in our community! Trader Jake's! It is free here in the area by the Publix and other areas! They have the best stories. They also have lots of prayers too! A nice story about a miracle! Good jokes and cartoons! Lots of history too!  This magazine has puzzles too, I like to do their Sudoku each week. They are on the conservative side and have many Christian prayers. The stories are wonderful and so heartwarming. I highly recommend it!  We are blessed to have a nice piece of literature like this in our community! Pick up a copy! I look for a new copy each week! 

  I see this huge yellow grasshopper around my house each day, sometimes in the front, other times in the back or by the driveway or in the plants or lawn, he loves it here I guess! I have seen him now for over a year around here. I have never seen such a huge yellow grasshopper before in my life. He doesn't seem to be afraid of me. The ones I am used to from New York were smaller and green. This one sure is unique and love to hang around here a lot! VLE living sure does bring a lot of nice wildlife and creatures and critters around where we live. It is a nice blessing from God! I really enjoy that about here where we live! Feeling so blessed! 

I love seeing all the wildlife around my house. Each day I see turtles, cardinals, blue jays, squirrels, etc. Yesterday I saw the pair of sand hill cranes again. They make a very loud screeching noise. They are very graceful creatures! The other day I saw this turtle again, I see him often, he goes in the road and all, a guy on the bike was screaming and cussing about the overbuilding here, as they are building new houses down the road and doing a lot of backhoe work, he feels bad for the turtles being displaced as do I. It is sad. I have seen so many eagles and owls here, but they keep cutting down more of their habitat and where will they be able to live soon?  While it is nice to live in the country, it is worrisome to see so much of the woods and animal habitat being taking down to build more houses, too bad they wouldn't put a moratorium on it for a while. We really are enjoying all the wildlife here and are grateful to God for all the visits from all of God's creatures ea...
